Quick News: Sony Playstation virtual reality rumors

More evidence has emerged that Sony is working on its own virtual reality  rival to Oculus Rift, with the makers of Driveclub heavily involved.

It seems  that Sony is only months, or perhaps just weeks, away from unveiling a virtual reality headset for the PlayStation 4, after the company was caught registering a number of new patents (one below).

Spotted by NeoGAF user gofreak the two patents refer to a head mounted display (HMD) and an audio system that alerts the wearer to real-world emergencies – such as alarms or a baby crying.

What is interesting is that the patents are attributed to Simon Benson and Ian Bickerstaff, both former members of Driveclub developer Evolution Studios.
Driveclub has long been associated with rumors of Sony’s VR plans, with the game reportedly being used in many of the early demos. Whether there’s any stronger  connection between the two products than that isn’t clear, but given that Driveclub was recently delayed it’s not hard to imagine a few obvious scenarios.
The biggest question may simply be when it will be released, as rumours suggest it was pulled at the last minute from Sony’s Gamescom line-up in August.

Im sure Sony is working on that kind of device, i will try too look closer to it and update you guys as soon as I will find something.
